A Significant Collaboration Driving Digital Identity Innovation
Meeco has entered a strategic partnership with Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd (DNP), a Japanese multinational with nearly 150 years of history in printing and advanced technologies. DNP have pioneered across a wide range of business areas resulting in the creation of value that is indispensable to daily lives across the globe.
DNP has built its reputation on providing secure physical products, including IC cards for the banking sector and identity artefacts. As the world increasingly shifts toward digital solutions, DNP has identified decentralised identity as an important part of our digital future.
After an extensive evaluation process spanning proof-of-concept, pilot testing, and procurement reviews, DNP selected Meeco's SVX Platform as the foundation for launching thier decentralised identity network in Japan.
In March 2024, the collaboration was formalised at the AusTrade offices in Melbourne.
"This marks an important milestone in our journey to revolutionise digital identity management globally." – Katryna Dow, Meeco CEO & Founder
The focus following the formalisation of the partnership was the first release of the DNP Decentralized Identity Platform planned for later in the year.
DNP Launches Platform for Building Decentralised ID-based Digital Credential Issue and Verification System
In August 2024, DNP made their first commercial announcements about the network launch in Japan. The initial version of the decentralised identity platform is already in production and being utilised by several of DNP's multinational partners to validate and enhance various use cases, with plans for commercial offerings through late 2025/2026.
The platform incorporates the following key capabilities developed in partnership with Meeco:
- Enterprise Cloud Wallets for credential issuance and verification
- Cloud Holder Wallets that integrate with existing applications
- APIs for issuing and verifying Verifiable Credentials
- Comprehensive security infrastructure
- Secure Vaults for storage and data exchange
- Enterprise Portal for workflow management

What makes this implementation particularly noteworthy is the speed of deployment. We were able to deploy the first version of the platform, complete with rigorous security configurations, in under three months—saving DNP an estimated two to three years in research and development time.
Looking Ahead – A Foundation For The Future
As stated by DNP, the plan is to provide the decentralized ID management platform primarily to industries expected to adopt DID, such as those in the fields of finance, communications, travel, automobiles and education. DNP aims for cumulative sales of 3.5 billion yen by FY 2029, including related products and services.
"By providing the B2B infrastructure necessary for network development and deployment, we're staying true to our north star while helping organisations like DNP bridge the gap between physical and digital identity solutions." – Katryna Dow, Meeco CEO & Founder
This partnership represents more than just a technological achievement. Our shared goal is to enable legal, commercial, and technical interoperability for DNP's platform to be implemented in ecosystems around the globe. Our shared vision for 2025/2026 centres on full commercialisation of the network through:
- Japan: DNP leading domestic market development
- Australasia: Expanding to Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Philippines, and Taiwan through the Asia Pacific Digital Identity Consortium (APDI)
- Europe, UK & Schengen: Alignment with the new EUDI Wallet and eIDAS 2.0 along with the evolving identity landscape in the UK and Schengen
We're excited about the possibilities this partnership brings and look forward to sharing more updates as our collaboration continues to evolve.
